The 7th edition of the Africa Domain Name System Forum was held in Gaborone, Botswana from 22nd to 24th July 2019. The forum was hosted by the Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA).
The objective of the three-day event was to help the Africa Domain Name Industry to grow at a competitive rate and to ensure that the continent is on par with the rest of the world. In attendance from DNS Africa Ltd were Neil Dundas, Jerry Maleka and Buyani Masilela.

The event opened with a key note address by Moctar Yedaly (AUC) and the three days were filled with insightful discussions, presentations and talks on the Industry and its' Social Impacts, IDNs and Universal Acceptance Initiatives, Payment Systems and Privacy and Data Protection, where Neil spoke on the panel for a Policy & Legal Perspective during Day 2 in Botswana.

He also took the attendees through a showcase of the innovative DNS Gateway SRS elements and a demonstrated a walkthrough of Gateway on Day 3 of the proceedings.
DNS Africa Ltd, being one of the few African-based ICANN Registrars was asked to join in the signing of the inaugural African Registrar Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The aim was to give African Registrars a collective and stronger voice on matters affecting the African domain name market.
This brought a close to the 7th Africa DNS Forum and the DNS Business team continues to play our part in growing the Domain Name Industry as well as encouraging and helping other Registrars to do the same.
